NYU Florence is seeking qualified applicants among NYU and non-NYU juniors, seniors and graduate students for Peer Advisor positions for the upcoming term.
Peer Advisors are responsible for promoting the cultural and academic growth and personal well-being of students at NYU Florence. Along with other responsibilities, Peer Advisors assist with check-in and orientation, conduct programs and facilitate clubs, serve as role models and information resources for students, carry out on-call hours (including approximately 2 weekends), conduct facilities rounds, report student issues, work in varying areas of the Office of Student Life, offer support at NYU-sponsored events, attend meetings with the Office of Student Life staff, and undertake residence life and administrative tasks. Each Peer Advisor lives with and is responsible for other students in either on or off-campus residences. Compensation is room (usually a double or triple room for undergraduates – roommate requests are permitted, single room for graduate students) and board (breakfast and dinner in the Villa Natalia cafeteria).
Interested students should e-mail their resume and cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications are due by Thursday, October 27. Scheduled interviews will take place via Skype or, if possible, in person. NYU Florence staff will notify students of their decisions by Friday, November 4. Please note that Peer Advisors are expected to arrive in Florence on Sunday, January 15.
